Unused Rumpus to Self-Contained Retreat
An empty, unused downstairs rumpus was transformed into a warm and inviting living space complete with kitchenette and bathroom. The space was lined with warmth-giving insulation underneath newly lined walls, existing spaces were transformed into a spacious bedroom and adjoining bathroom. A living area incorporated the existing kitchenette to create a homely space for the clients. The upgraded hot water system saw the whole household benefit as they transitioned from low pressure to mains pressure water, not just adding value but the comfort of a warm shower.
